Air Source Heat Pump Fitted for the Levenes

We recently completed an install for Judith & Simon Leven after they heard about our services at a Renewable Energy event in Inverness (pre-covid, of course!)

Here’s how they got on..

Our Air Source Heat Pump was fitted in September 2020. Prior to this, we had several points of contact with BIR – at the Renewable Energy event in Inverness, over the telephone, email, in person at BIR offices, at home when the survey was carried out – without exception every contact has been positive. We also had positive feedback from friends who had used BIR for their Air source heat pump and we viewed their system.

Our initial meeting at the event gave us lots of information to consider and we were able to make comparisons with competitors. The follow-up visit at the office again gave us the information we needed by answering our questions and showing us an Air source heat pump in action. The survey was booked at a time to suit us and a quote followed.

Due to the national lockdown, the installation was delayed but we were kept up to date every step of the way. Outside work commenced on the Friday by Ruaridh who removed our oil boiler and Kevin who installed a fully insulated ‘lean to’ for the hot water tank and other electrics. Dan, Josh and Jay fitted the system. They were prompt, respectful of our home and took great care with carpets, walls and furnishings. They were a pleasure to have around and clearly worked well together. Everything was explained regarding day to day work schedule and there was minimal cleaning as they were very tidy workers.

The work started on the Monday and all was up and running by the Friday. The waste was removed from site shortly after installation. We had a minor concern (as we didn’t know what we were doing!) during the following weeks with adjusting the temperature controls and were able to talk this through with Chris. An engineer came to visit and adjusted the heat curve.

Additionally, there was a minor issue with the ‘lean to’ which was quickly resolved. Sara, who project managed throughout, was excellent. Clear information was given and everything happened when it was supposed to. The string of phone calls and emails answering our queries were dealt with good humour and efficiency. Aftercare has been excellent. When completing the RHI forms paperwork was required and nothing was too much trouble for Linda and Kelly who quickly provided what was needed. The ongoing service contract was set up smoothly.

We have just gone through one of the coldest winter spells in recent times and can honestly say that we have never been so warm and toasty. The system has exceeded our hopes and we are really delighted with it.
